About Kara Miller
Kara began her career in women's healthcare in 1995 as a birth doula, then as an assistant midwife in the Rogue Valley. Around the same time, she began working for a local acupuncturist and fell in love with Chinese Medicine—pursuing a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with a focus on women's health. Her thesis explored postpartum depression, sparking a lifelong interest in maternal mental health.
After graduating, Kara completed an intensive internship in the Gynecology department at China Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Centre, studying under a senior medical doctor with 50+ years of women's health expertise.
In recent years, she's expanded her focus to mental health across all ages—particularly anxiety and depression in teenagers and young adults. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine offer natural, effective support for emotional regulation and nervous system calm.
Kara brings awareness, compassion, and deep personal understanding to every patient. When not in the office, you'll find her in the mountains or by the ocean—hiking, skiing, paddling, camping with her partner, daughter, and puppy.
